Ethics, Integrity and Accountability Task Force: Meeting Scheduled for December 17, 2007
December 10, 2007, Miami, FL – The next meeting of the Ethics, Integrity and Accountability Task Force is scheduled for Monday, December 17, 9:00AM at the Commission on Ethics and Public Trust office. It will be open to the public.
Members of the EIA Task Force were selected by the Miami-Dade County Commission on Ethics and Public Trust from among academic circles, former judges, attorneys, government leaders and the business community.
During this meeting, the Task Force will review the recommendations of its five subcommittees and begin the process of preparing a report to be ratified at the Task Force’s final meeting in January 2008. Once approved, the report will be presented to the Board of County Commissioners, the Office of the County Mayor, the Miami-Dade League of Cities and the Commission on Ethics and Public Trust.

The Ethics Commission was created in 1996 as an independent agency with advisory and quasi-judicial powers. It is composed of five members, serving staggered terms of four years each. Through a program of education and outreach, the Commission seeks to empower the community and bolster public trust.
